'Read-only file system' when untar a tar.bz2 file

I am trying to untar a 'tar.bz2' by this 'tar -xvjf firefox-1.5-source.tar.bz2'.

But it said 'Read-only file system'.

Can you please tell me how can I fix it? I check from the System monitor, it has disk space and I am using 'ext3' file extension.

Thank you.

[scheung@localhost data]$ tar -xvjf firefox-1.5-source.tar.bz2

What is the output of mount? Does it in fact show ro for the file system? If so, it doesn't matter if there is space or not, it'll need to be remounted as rw.
