i just bought a logitech dual action gamepad, and to my surprise, zsnes wont recognize ANY of the axis! wtf? ive also tried joy2key but I cant get it to work right, sometimes the keys just all of a sudden unmap themselves. help anyone?
funny thing.. I had many key errors while using that on windoze as for the keys umaping are you changeing any settings when this happens? I found that used to be a major problem in my last slack install (and with windoze eire..) course I never really got around key problems on windoze I got just used the defaults and configured my strategic commander for it so it became a problem that well wasnt a problem but I would like to also know the fix as i cant really use that at this time.
its just joy2keys unmapping some keys. i have one terminal open and its running a cat /dev/js0 and zsnes playing with my joy2keys running. i start playing, and all of a sudden the gamepad starts messing up, as usual with joy2keys (for example joy2keys keeps feeding the computer the input i set for moving the pad right, it doesnt stop pressing the right until later when it just decides to give it up itself)
i check the terminal that i had running cat /dev/js0, no output was coming from my gamepad (makes sense cuz im not touching it anymore) but joy2dev is still pushing the dammed buttons when i let go a long time ago..
wow that is a bitch (cough makes me think of a epsxe problem I had.. cough cough in fact exactly id let it go and poor little alex would keep walking..) and it would be with anything from the commander to the keyboard to any joystick I never did find out why it did this (and it was only on xp, didnt do it on any other os and hasnt done it on slack on my previous install havent bothered yet this go around) so is the terminal just start hanging or is it not getting the signals properly it may be one of the two however Im not quite sure how to correct them at the moment Ill look into it before I post again however, and this was (and may be again soon really starting to miss link to the past..and chronotrigger) a problem for me so Im all for finding out why it did that.

the terminal isnt hanging at all, the input to the game just keeps getting sent despite the fact that im not pressing anymore buttons AND the terminal isnt showing any more output which proves that im not pressing anything.. this is getting SO frustrating that im about to return my controller for maybe another one. but i dont know which is well supported under linux.
