Yet Another Ut2004 Thread

I am trying to install UT2004. i am about ready to toss it in the trash.

ok i copy the linux-installer.sh file to the hard drive. the i start it up
enter the information
it then asks for CD2, i stick it in the drive. it then still asks for it.

so i know automount is screwing with the installer.
so i type this
umount /dev/dvdrecorder

the SOB still wont work after that.

i then manually remount, nothing

i try to find the configuration for CD drives but cant. suse has it hid some where. so how do i disable autorun or install this game?

try disabling automount for the install then open a console and every time it asks for a new CD just do this;

umount /dev/dvdrecorder
eject and replace the CD,
mount /dev/dvdrecorder /mnt/cdrom
*repeat

also its possible that it expects the CD to be mounted on "/mnt/cdrom" and if your mounting it on "/mnt/dvdrecorder" it could be causing problems.

if none of those help just post any aditional problems/symptoms.

Try not to run the installer from within the directory. Meaning, go into your home directory and run sh /dev/dvdrecorder/linux-installer.sh rather than being in the dvdrecorder directory and running ./linux-installer.sh

Worked for me and believe me I'm a happy dude. Tried to install NFS Underground and the same problem but I'm gonna' be able to do it now.
