From MAME - documents For the filenames of the BIOS sets, consult MAWS (search by the resource type "BIOS"). Place these in your ROMS folder (Leave them zipped).
I have the bios in question, what I need to know is how do I get xmame to use it?
maybe some info would help:
rom: samsho*
bios: neogeo
xmame: v .100 (cli)

Again, (3) Neo Geo and many other games need their BIOS ROMs in addition to the game ROMs. BIOS ROMs are ROMs used for the system, that are common to all games on the system (often contain boot-up code, or menu processor code). For example the Neo Geo BIOS must be named NEOGEO.ZIP. For the filenames of rest of the BIOS sets, consult MAWS (search by the resource type "BIOS"). Place these in your ROMS folder (Leave them zipped). Read the docs in the MAME - documents link above. Play the game as you would any other in xmame. Rom should be zip file ie.Samurai Shodown! 2 (JUE) [!].zip
I'm sorry for this, I have the roms, I have the bios, they are zipped and in the rom folder, and they still do not load, are they the wrong version and how do I find out?
yes I have read the docs, and they told nothing that I didn't already know
Can you post the output you get when you start xmame? From there I'm sure we'll be able to help you work things out. If you need more direct help, just email me at phulshof@xs4all.nl.
