I am trying to install and run WOW. I ran it just fine on this computer before. I am using Fedora 20, fully updated with Intel 4000 HD Graphics. I am using Wine from the repos which is version 1.7.16. I can start WOW, log in and get to the character creation screen. There everything seems fine for about 5 seconds and then it freezes up. The music still plays but the screen is frozen.

I have tried lowering all the graphic settings. I have tried it with DirectX and Opengl. Nothing helps with this. Maybe someone else can help me.

Does it say anything about it on the Wine forums? If this is a new problem, they may or may not know about it and can give a suggestion. Sometimes when Wine moves to a new version things break that were working before.

I was finally able to get it to work. I changed a setting to launch the 32 bit client instead of the 64 bit and now it works fine.
