Winex3 question with steam

I was told that i need to edit the wineconfig file in order to get steam to work. Where exactly is this winecofig file that i need to edit? I cant find it.

This probably should be a newbie question in the newbie section, lol. But please reply! Thanks in advance!

well it depends where you put your fake drive ?
usually located at ~/.wine/ or ~/c

Hmm im not quite sure where I put my fake drive actually.

I just remember using pkgtool on the winex3-3.2-1.i386.tgz and it doing everything its self.
I really cant remember setting a fake drive or anything like that.

Just to help me out a little more...where exactly is an ideal place to install games? I saw when i downloaded and installed UT2k4 it put the files in (what i think was) /usr/local/games is that an ideal place to put all my games?
