Wine+Linux = unsteady uneven movement
 
I've been playing around with Half Life again, hoping I could get TFC working again through wine. I finally figured out how to get around Half Life's menu problems but now my problem is in game the movement is really unsteady.

When I'm walking forward the speed will vary from a walk, to a run, to a crawl. This is the movement of the player itself, the framerates with opengl are fine. Any ideas on what could be cause this?

Mandrake 9.2, Kernel 2.6.2mm, Emachines M5310 laptop, Athlon XP-M 2400, 512mb ram, 64meg ATI IGP 320

maybe you could try unloading the joystick module? what version of wine do you have?

I'm using the latest source code compiled with openGL for my system. When you say module you mean from the kernel or from half life in the console?
