why input key everytime when run quake4 in linux?


i inout key of quake4 then i play. but next time i have to input again ,why?

Are you using a invaild cd-key? Everytime you load up Quake IV, it connects to some server and authenticates the key, if it fails, then it asks you to enter it in again. So to get around that, don't play with a internet connection.

Now if you have a retail key and its still asking, then maybe Quake IV is having problems writing the config. Are you graphics setting and such the same or are they reset also?

im having the same problem and i always disconnect fromt he net and my vid settings stay the same

I don't know then. It sounds like Quake IV is able to write the config file, since your graphics settings are saved, so I would assume the key is being saved also. So I don't know why its asking for the key everytime.
