What Processor and video card do you use to game?
1-Barton 2500 OC'd to 2047 GHZ
2-Geforce 4200 T1 (128 memory)
Ok, i realize i have an ancient system i built 4 years ago. But i'm not a bad Unreal Tournament player. This past week i have been slaughtered by fast moving players i never heard of.(alias notwithstanding)
So i started asking peeps what they were using. Man, i'm getting reports of 3GHZ all the way to 3.5GHZ Processors. and 6800 to 7800 Video cards. (i'm not an ATI guy)
I guess that's the reason i am getting my ass kicked. When i play these guys, i go to switch a weapon and fire then forget it, I'm DEAD!! It's too late. Anyway, just wondering what you guys are using....

I am not an avid gamer, although I regularly play Counter-Strike: Source. I have a P4 3.2 E (Prescott) processor with an Asus P4C800E Deluxe motherboard. The video card is an MSI GeForce 6600 GT, which I believe is the weak link, even though it is about as good as you can do these days with an AGP card. (Yes, there are a few faster AGP cards, but the name of the game today is PCIe.)
It is probably just as well that you like NVIDIA-based cards, since Linux runs much better with video cards that use an NVIDIA GPU. Anyway, I hope that helps.

I game very little, run a 3800+ X2 and an ATi x800 XT PE(got a deal on it). Maybe when I have more time I will replace this card with a more Linux friendly model.

AMD Athlon XP 3000+
1024 of 3200 crucial and something else(tm) ram
MSI GeForce NX6600 256mb vr x8 agp ( The best I could find :< )
VIA Motherboard of some kind (I bought this computer from a friend of mine an have been adding to it since.)
I realized that any game under emulation runs much faster if you have a great processor not a great video card. (NOT including any celerons, durons, or semprons.. no matter how much faster one celeron is from another, it is still pathetic when it comes to emulated games.)
