Question UT2004 Megapack Installation

I downloaded the 200MB UT2004 Megapack for Linux, and I understand that installing it is a matter of extracting the tar.bz2 files. However, when I extract it, it has one more directory than it should. Here it is: "UT2004MegaPack"
That is the top-level directory in the archive, and all of the subdirectory path names are correct. Example:
>tar -jtvf /mnt/Ftp/Games-ISO/Unreal/ut2004megapack-linux.tar.bz2
...
-rw-r--r-- icculus/users 27248098 2005-12-07 16:45:20 UT2004MegaPack/Maps/AS-BP2-Acatana.ut
...

If I could get rid of the "UT2004MegaPack" part of the path, then I would be on my way. Any ideas?

Code:
cd UT2004MEGAPACK
mv * /path/to/ut2004
cd ..
rmdir UT2004MEGAPACK
no secrets there... What i did to get it working. Works like a charm.

I thought of that, but directories in the package have the same name as pre-existing directories, so I thought it might overwrite them. I did a nice and safe "cp -rv" last Friday night and that seems to be working ok. Though for some reason the User.ini gets corrupted every few loads and I have to copy it over with a known good backup of my User.ini file.

It isn't a lot of work to fix it, but every time I load the game I have to wonder whether or not the controls are going to work, as only the mouse works when the User.ini file gets corrupted.

That's strange. I have had 0 problems with ut2004. And following the directions from the latest patch, i have even gotten my name on the hellbender license plate, and i'm getting great fps lately. If you still have that problem you should make a launch ut2004 script that copies over the User.ini every time so you won't have to worry about that problem anymore.

BTW, about mv, mv will only copy over files with same name, not directories, it'll just dump stuff from the directory witht the same name to the other.
