Exclamation ut2004 crashes

I am a newbie when i comes to linux, but i am trying to become more proficient. I am running Suse 9.1 personal, have an Athlon 64 3000 Cpu, NvidiaGeforce 4 Ti4200, and 1GB of Corsair ddr 3200. Running the newest Nvidia drivers (i have tweaked them a little to try to get them working such as changing the option "nv" to "nvidia" and added options such as "NvAGP" "3") and it still seems to crash after about 20 min of gameplay. It runs great untill then, i don't think it is related to heat issues because i have about 9 fans in my computer and cpu temperatures are acceptable. I had the same problems with Mandrake 10.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Update: i ran dmesg under console and it gives me this-

agpgart: found an AGP 3.0 compliant device at 0000:00:00.0
agpgartevice is in Legacy mode, falling back to 2.x
agpgart:Putting AGP V2 device at 0000:00:00.0 into 4x mode
agpgart:Putting AGP V2 device at 0000:01:00.0 into 4x mode
(ALSA sound/pci/via82xx.c:727: invalid via822xx_cur_prt, using last valid pointer)-this line about 10 times

(It repeats these lines of code multiple times)

Sorry, i can't post the whole dmesg, but that computer has dns problems and can't access the internet right now.

Hopefully i gave some useful information here. I do not want to run ut2004 on windows, but i will if i have to. I'm trying to make the transition from windows to linux and unreal is my favorite game, it runs so well on Linux until it crashes too.

Is this the original retail version? Try patching UT2k4 with the most recent patch. The original version had some bugs in it.

Thanks for the reply, but when i update the game with the newest patch it gives me the error that i have an invalid cd-key. Master server determined that you cd key is invalid. My cd key works before i update. Before contemplating the thought that i did not buy the game, well don't, because i DID BUY THE GAME! Many other linux users are having the same issues with the newest patch. I had to reinstall 6 cd's to get the game working again . Someone please tell me why Unreal says i don't have a valid cd key and why it keeps crashing on me. Don't make me boot into windows!

hmm sorry about that I checked my version and I'm using 3236 (one patch from the newest). I don't get that error at all, you could try patching with that patch if you can find it. Also back up your current install and then patch so you can just restore if something goes wrong.
