Ut2004

hey guys,

I've been trying to get unreal tournament 2004 to run in my linux, but whenever I go to boot the game I get this error..

Code:
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
WARNING: ALC_EXT_capture is subject to change!
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Couldn't set video mode: Couldn't find matching GLX visual

History:

Exiting due to error
I meet all the system requirements, even tried it all in windows first to make sure this computer could handle it.. (dual boot) but I'd much rather run this game in the OS I'm more comfortable with

Hi.

What video card are you using? And are you using the manufacturer's drivers?

The card that I'm using is NV25 GeForce4 Ti4200

and using this module: NVIDIA GeForce4 (generic)... so far I havent been able to use anything that has 3D ... so I should seek out the manufactorers driver and try that? okies.. will do

Yup.

Only the driver from nVidia will do 3D acceleration. Don't forget to read the readme on how to edit xf86config (or xorg.conf).

yep...stinks like you havent installed the nvidia.com driver correctly.

either the driver is not installed, or not loaded.

ut2004 uses some rpoprietry insane texture compression.. u need the closed dource nvidia drivers to play the game
