This may not help, but I remember that when I installed ut2003, I got the cdkey wrong, and when that happens BAD things start to happen. I remember this because of the last line:

"[11] ./ut2003-bin(ValidateCDKey__Fv+0x49) [0x80511f1]"

The last error is that it caused a segmentation fault. That means that it tried to use memory it wasn't supposed to use. You could try a few things to narrow down the problem. First try:

Changing the cdkey: it must be EXACTLY the same as it is on the manual. By the way, every one says you have to reinstall the game, this isn't true, just open up "ut2003/System/cdkey" with your favorite text editor and change it. The cdkey file may actually be somewhere else, but it is pretty obvious what it is, you'll know when you see it.

Next try:
ut2003 --no-sound

(it may be --nosound)

If it still does the same thing try to update your SDL libraries by going here:

www.libsdl.org

And update your OpenGL drivers by getting the newest drivers from your card manufactures web site, if you have an nVidia card, you would goto:

www.nvidia.com

Hope I was of some help. It would be more help to me if you gave me more info, such as what kind of computer you have, what version of linux, etc...

I have an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro card and i use mandrake 10.0 community download.I'll try your directions and post results soon!

None of them helped! I used to play my game in mandrake 9.2 with the same hardware and with no problem @ all!I now upgraded to mandrake linux 10.0 and after i re-installed the game (i removed that game for space reasons sometime in between) i get this silly error!Could it be my new (2.6.xx)kernel?During boot i have an option for mndrake 9.2 , and of course the old kernel(2.4.xx).Should i try it from my old kernel or would i , by choosing my old mandrake distro , harm in anyway my system eg my installed drivers?

What is it?My card runs all 3d games smoothly and in glxgears i get round 4730 FPS!!

I solved this!!! The only thing u have to do is to update from version 2107 to 2225 !
U have to download and execute this file ftp://david.hedbor.org/ut2k3/updates...7to2225.sh.bin
