UT under wine ...
Just a quick question about running unreal tournament under wine ...
the install goes fine i chose my graphics card and im on my way :) but after about a minute of playing it just returns to Gnome ? im running fedora core 1 on a 2ghz laptop with 512ddr ram and a 32 mb s3 proDDR graphics card with on board sound (AC97) i think. Any help would be greatful as i think iv done well to some this far cheerz ! |
UT doesn't need to run with WINE; a Linux binary is included on the installation CDs. Use that because it will work much better than a WINE instance.

In UT2004 the Linux installer is on the first disk if anyone cares to know. ;)
|
www.ausgamers.com have the necessary files too, and no queueing either.
Incidentally, queueing is one of the more common English words containing 5 vowels in a row :) |
Interesting facts, eh?
|
yay for australian websites ;)
UT (all versions) work great on linux. The installer works without a hitch and i can play it great. The only main release game i have an issue with is ET in which occasionally i get artefacts.. |
