i tried but it failed. The error message comes here:

[olkku@a84-230-130-21 Documents]$ gunzip -v '/home/olkku/Documents/UT2004-LNX-Demo3334.run.gz'
/home/olkku/Documents/UT2004-LNX-Demo3334.run.gz:
gunzip: /home/olkku/Documents/UT2004-LNX-Demo3334.run.gz: unexpected end of file
[olkku@a84-230-130-21 Documents]$

I have tried to download the package from different sources all failed. What is the problem?

I had exactly the same problem with the UT2004 demo. In the end, after trying a number of the mirrors from the EA games that all seemed to be corrupt .gz files I obtained a torrent from :

http://www.filerush.com/torrents/ut2...un.bz2.torrent

and it downloaded and worked fine.

Hope that helps.

PS: If you need a good torrent client try http://azureus.sourceforge.net/

I also had that problem. Thanks for the link, getting the demo from the torrent now. I'm a complete noob, but I was just wondering how epic could screw up that bad and release a corrupt demo, or is there an actual way to get it to work? Tried unzipping in windows too, corrupted file still.

I wonder if it was already unzipped, even though it has .gz at the end... are the good and bad ones the same size? If the bad one is much larger then perhaps it isn't zipped at all!
