Unreal Tournament GOTY and Voodoo 4 4500 PCI

I'm having a problem with running Unreal Tournament GOTY on my machine. It installs perfecly but I'm only getting around 1fps or something, even in the menues.

I'm running slackware 9.1 with the 2.6.7 kernel and I've compiled DRI for my card.
glxinfo says "direct rendering: yes" and glxgears get around 800-900 fps.

The GFX card i'm using is a 3dfx Voodoo 4500 PCI. I know it's not a good card but I ran this game under windows with this card and with a 400mhz AMD K6-2. Now I have a 733mhz PIII.

I tried to change to glide render but I read that you can only use glide with UT in XFree86 v. 3 and I'm using v. 4.

Software render runs the game fine, but just in 320x200. I've also tried both OpenGL modes; the SDLOpenGL and the OpenGL mode.

Any help would be great.

EDIT: I also tried to change the OpenGLLibName value from libGL.so.1 to libMesaGL.so.2.5 but then the game would not start and gave me this error message:

binding libMesaGL.so.2.5
appError called:
Could not load OpenGL library

Well, I have a Celeron 433 and a cheap 8mb VESA video card, SiS7630 or something, I think, I don't feel like checking, but it's pretty worthless,

but anyway,

I have the same trouble. I have to go into Gnome to execute the darn thing, and when I get in, even moving the mouse around, I get oh... 3 seconds to the frame. not fps....spf. ridiculous. even a Celeron should give better results than that, in the menues anyway.

Consider this a [bump]

I suppose.....
