Unreal Tournament 2004 SIGIOT [iot trap]

I have seen a lot of similar threads on this topic but so far none of them have worked for me. The closest problem to mine seems to be that Maps aren't decompressed correctly, but it looks like mine are. I ran ut -log and it outputted the following:

Code:
Unreal engine initialized

Bound to SDLDrv.so

Joystick [0] : Unknown Joystick

SDLClient initialized.

Bound to Render.so

Lighting subsystem initialized

Rendering initialized

LoadMap: Entry

Bound to Fire.so

Case-insensitive search: Botpack -> ..\System\BotPack.u

Bound to IpDrv.so

InitGame:

Base Mutator is Entry.Mutator0

Browse: CityIntro.unr?Name=Player?Class=Botpack.TMale2?team=255?skin=SoldierSkins.blkt?Face=SoldierSkins.Othello

LoadMap: CityIntro.unr?Name=Player?Class=Botpack.TMale2?team=255?skin=SoldierSkins.blkt?Face=SoldierSkins.Othello

Executing USDLClient::ShutdownAfterError

USDLGLRenderDevice::ShutdownAfterError

Signal: SIGIOT [iot trap]

Aborting.

Exiting.

Name subsystem shut down
Most of it seems to work until it tries to intialize what I assume is the main window of the game.

I'm not sure what is causing this error because I don't have much experience with video drivers or GLX, so I can't understand the error from that output. Do any of you understand what is causing the error?

I'm not sure of the option to launch the game windowed but I would try that.

I edited the UnrealTournament.ini file and set StartupFullscreen to False, but that still gave me the exact same error. Just to test what was happening, I also changed the resolution for both Fullscreen and Windowed play. However, that did not change the resolution it tried to set for the viewport (640x480). Do you know where it is getting that resolution from?

I imagine its in the settings.ini type file as the default resolution. I know the executable accepts launching with switches like -console and I bet there is a resolution switch and many many others.

Are your video drivers actually accelerated? Try and run glxgears and see what your numbers are.

glxgears ran, but it showed this in the terminal:

Running synchronized to the vertical refresh. The framerate should be
approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.
XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":0.0"
after 49 requests (49 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
