Hi,
I recently got my ATI "drivers" to work, and now i have that all set up and working good, so i reinstalled the UT2003 Demo, and i thought i had it this time, only to realize that yet another problem was happening. I was informed UT 2003 doesn't work with ATI cards, but Requires Nvidia cards to work. I was wondering if this is true, or if it is possibly somethin else wrong this time.
Im in Windows right now, but will go into linux soon and post the error that xterm gives me when i try and run the game.
Also, i dont know if this means anything, but the UT2003Demo uninstall file still dont do what it's supposed to, and i was wondering if this could be caused by the same thing.
no, the uninstall file simply doesnt work it didnt for me too, but the demo was running fine for me so it has to be something else post the xterm log then well see
k, im in linux now, and have tried once again to reinstall UT2003demo and run it, but again, the install works, and the game dont.
I tried to run the game through xterm, and got the following message:
bash-2.05b# ut2003_demo
open /dev/dsp: Device or resource Busy
Couldn't set video mode: Couldn't find matching GLX visual
History:
Exiting due to error
Bash-2.05b#
I am listening to music, but with the music off, the only diff in messages is the "open /dev/dsp: Devise or resource Busy" isn't there.
Any and all help would be very appreciated.
Thanks

ok. first, the couldnt open /dev/dsp means that something is hogging your soundcard. kill all sound apps before running. for the matching glx visual, are you sure you have 3d accel enabled? type glxinfo and look for direct rendering: X where X is yes or no.

Add a line:
Load "glx"
into the "module" section of your XF86Config file, then restart X and glxinfo and glxgears should work.
Make sure you're actually using the ATI driver in the XF86Config file, "device" section...
Good luck
