I tried downloading War Rock http://www.gamersfirst.com/warrock/
What am i suppose to use to work? I tried wine, but that only worked for the installer. T__T
Also, any recommendation for first person online shooting games? that work on linux
Do I have to pay for Cedega? because i cannot find the download link anywhere. I am a newbie in Linux. Have you guys have any 1st person shooting game that works for Linux using Wine? or any free program.
The idea is that you sign up for membership at 45USD per 12 months ... IIRC: if you do not renew your membership, you stop getting updates - but you can still use the program. There is also a trial membership with a weird creature game - don't know if this will run any others... suspect not.
I only suggested it because you seemed to especially want war rock, and this seems to be the only real option on linux. When you use gnu/linux you enter a different world and there will be withdrawal. Some people keep a cheap windows box around for this sort of thing.
Hm... Is there another way to play any first person shooting games without paying?
Have you looked at Openarena?
It has all the frenetic fragging of Quake3 with new maps and skins.
It's also open source and free(as in cost).
Dependant on which distro you are using,it may be installable via your package manager.

Well,if you like fps you'll love the Quake series.
Unfortunately not free, but ID have a policy of supporting Linux by releasing Linux clients for their games.
Have a look at their website:

Don't you pay to access the War Rock site to play the game?
Never mind - everyone is telling you about Quake. As I said on post #2:

A "distribution" is the particular brand of gnu/linux you run. There are lots - see distrowatch.
FYI: if you edit your profile to put your distro and location in there, it will show up on the left (see mine) of your posts. That helps us find better answers for you.
Not too many people play openarena or Quake 3 multiplayer. B/c id software is working on quake live most people are just using that. Since Quake live still doesn't have support for linux, we have to wait a bit longer. I would recommend to you, Alien Arena, Sauerbraten, ASSAULT CUBE (this one is really fun and simple), Nexuiz, etc..
If you don't mind paying for a good game, i would suggest you get Enemy Territory, QUAKE WARS. I think it is probably the best multiplayer game and it has really nice graphics if you have a good card . Quake Wars also has a functioning linux port. There is also Doom 3, Quake 4, and Prey( I still need to buy that one). Some guy actually made a linux port of Prey, Here is the link for you to try the demo and how to install retail copy: http://icculus.org/prey/
