suse 9.1 + cedega + baldurs gate 2

i have little problem.. i have installed baldur's gate 2 in windows xp and patched it to whatever is newest version now (somethin 37 i think). and now im trying to play baldurs gate in my suse so i type in console cedega baldur.exe and it starts that normal "window" which it usually starts. there is options install and exit (or was it quit) and im wondering why i have to install it again because i installed it in windows xp allready.. ok ill try to install it again with cedega about 2/3 times installshield program crashes.. and when it doesn't crash i try to install like i normally do and select full install and select installation path to /windows/d/pelit/bg2 and then i push next button and select whatever of those 3 options (full, recommended, something) it says that i dont have enough space... and i know i have enough space i have over 6g on d: drive

does it use my linux drive for somekind of temp ?

ps. sorry for my bad english :)

First, you need to be patient when posting,... give 24 hrs before bumping your thread with another response... I see you've done that,... but remember, not everyone who uses Cedega or WineX necessarily uses your game. Also, some people who have not experienced your trouble may not have a response for you even if they do play it.

As to the Cedega question,...

Cedega maintains a seperate "registry" of sorts for the programs that are installed to it. Secondly, a program that is installed on a NTFS drive will not work properly in Linux, even using Cedega, because NTFS drives are supported for read-only functions in Linux.

Sometimes it is possible to fool Cedega into running games installed elsewhere, but it is by no means simple.

Go here for more information. You may have to go back to a previous version of WineX to get Baldur's Gate 2 to play.

i have tried winex 3.2 and 3.3 too and my windows drives are not ntfs because of linux.

and i tried that "download Black and white patch and run it with cedega so it updates some of those installshield files." tried that and now my cedega crashes when trying to install/start that bg2

It doesn't matter that you are on FAT32 drives,... Linux needs to run Cedega on drives with set-able permissions. NTFS and FAT32 drives don't support that.

You need to install Baldur's Gate on a Linux drive (ReiserFS, EXT3, etc.). Also, NEVER run patches that do anything with Install Shield or DirectX on the windoze side. Cedega/WineX relies on its own libraries for them.

that installshield trick is from transgaming support pages, from one of those "admins" and they say this trick about 2/3 posts which concerns baldurs gate.

and its not possible to install that baldurs gate to linux partition because i dont have enough space there. i installed diablo 2 about 1 year ago to linux with winex3.2 and it went easily with no problems to windows partition (fat32)
