Stepmania Sound Issues

Hey everyone,

I am getting a problem when I run stepmania. I emerged it and everything went fine with no errors, but when I run the program, it outputs this (and therefor not starting):

Code:
Initializing driver: ALSA9
/////////////////////////////////////////
WARNING: Unknown sound driver name: ALSA9
/////////////////////////////////////////
Initializing driver: OSS
RageSound_OSS: sample rate 44100
Sound driver: OSS
AnnouncerManager::AnnouncerManager()
Cache format is out of date. Deleting all cache files.

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Exception: Theme metric 'SongManager : NumGroupColors' could not be found in 'Themes/default/metrics.ini' or 'Themes/default/metrics.ini'.//////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Shutting down mixer thread ...
Mixer thread shut down.
Segmentation fault
I don't quite understand what this means, so all help is greatly appreciated! Thanks for your guys' time!

It isn't a sound problem, its a metric problem. What theme are you using and what release are you using? (If you're trying 3.9a12, roll back to a11, everyone's been having problems with 11). Or try adding
NumGroupColors=0
On the part (in your metric.ini) under SongManager (or the other way around, I forget). You also might want to post in the ddrmaniax forums (the one for StepMania of course) people over there know what's up and might be able to give you more help than me. But, its a metric problem, not sound. (Also, you can hit me up on AIM and I can give you links for the Extreme theme for a12, maybe that'll work.)

Ok, I got pretty far. I got an earlier version and instead of emerging it I got the binary.

Seems to be okay, but the problem is that when I start the program it gives me a problem about not being able to read the Data/VideoCardDefaults.ini file.

I found out that there IS no such file. Is it possible I can create it?
