steam wont let me backup


when I try backing up counter strike source so I can copy it over to my new machine it says "cant backup until finished updating". but it has finsihed because when I double click on it it loads up counter strike

i can't even register steam as i can't type in or cupy'n'paste to the registration boxes.

well i am using cedega 4.1 and it works fine. I found out that steam doesn't let u backup until the full game has been downloaded oops. Cedega isn't free though u can use the CVS version which is freee. But I haven't used it before so I cant help you.
