Greetings all,

Well, I got Steam installed, but not through the GUI; having searched for "Steam" in the Ubuntu Software Center, I found the Steam icon, but the "More Info" button simply said no package was found. So I looked for a way to install it form there but found no path to do so. I went with a terminal installation instead.

After installing Steam and then a game off Steam, I decided to uninstall Steam; again, the GUI had no method for doing this. Steam was neither found nor was there a "Remove" button. So I uninstalled and purged it from the terminal. My question is why was I not able to install or uninstall it through the Software Center?

Because USF is a buggy mess...

Interesting thing about steam, I think on any distro, is that it will install a new steam client in ~/.local/share/Steam. So if you ran steam you probably still have a full install there.
