Steam/Team Fortress 2 not launching in Debian Lenny

I have got Steam installed via Wine, my steam login has worked and have downloaded and updated my Team Fortress 2. Ive checked with Wine and it is properly ported and works no issues.

I know that Wine is working properly as I can play Guildwars and Starcraft with no problems.

When I launch the icon on the desktop is starts loading and then the launcher closes and nothing happens. Steam continues to run like normal. Restarting Steam does nothing. SOS! Heh
