are you using winex or regular wine? for the sp mode, you can easily find a no-cd crack, which would fix your problem.

regular wine

i found winex in an rpm but my system is retarded when it comes to rpms
so i like the source or slackpackeges tgz

also i was unclear if i had to unistall wine or if i could just leave wine installed

you can leave wine installed if you tweak the srcs a bit, i think theres a script somewhere that does it all for you, but i forgot where.

i have no idea what cvs is all about nor have i ever used it

explination?

i got the instructions but there jibbereish

To convert an existing CVS SourceForge checkout to the new TransGaming.org CVS repository:

Download the cvschroot script from http://www.horae.dti.ne.jp/~gotoh/di...root/cvschroot
sh cvschroot -d <path to your tree> server:cvs@cvs.transgaming.org:/cvsroot winex
You should now be able to update CVS as usual

To checkout a new CVS respository:

cvs -dserver:cvs@cvs.transgaming.org:/cvsroot login
When prompted for the password enter "cvs"
cvs -z3 -dserver:cvs@cvs.transgaming.org:/cvsroot co winex

how do i just download the thing????????????

use this:
cvs -dserver:cvs@cvs.transgaming.org:/cvsroot login
password: cvs
then, do this when youre logged in:
cvs -z3 -dserver:cvs@cvs.transgaming.org:/cvsroot co winex
itll take a while, the srcs arent small.
