Safe to play World of Warcraft now?
A while ago, Blizzard has (wrongly) banned players using Cedega/Linux to play World of Warcraft. This issue was fixed with Cedega and Blizzard team working together and at the end, legimate players were unbanned.

Now, a few months have passed and my Cedega account has expired. I have lately had better experiences with wine, so I was planning to play World of Warcraft with Wine (or with my old Cedega if wine does not work).

So, here is the question: Is anyone still getting banned when running WoW through wine or Cedega? I know that back then, when banned, an user had to send his account info to Cedega team in order to un-ban their accounts. This is not an option for me, since I am not going to renew my Cedega subscription yet (unless I really have too).

Thanks in advance!

People using wine never got banned, it was purely a mistake on cedega's side. I've played WoW for quite some time using WIne & Cedega and never have been banned, same goes for my lil brother. I think it's safe to say it's safe to play :).

Thank you puntjuh for your reply. I've just coincidentally finished installing WoW (man, does the patches take long) and I had way too many problems with Cedega, regarding fps and keyboard. But it worked perfectly in wine, so I am sticking with it ^_^;;

Thanks again for the reply. Feels much better now ^_^;;
