Apparently (according to the page I linked) it does work under Linux. The question is, how would you like to run it, and at what cost? The page I'm referring to tells that if you install Cedega (Transgaming's), which has a small fee you have to pay to use it (unless you want the CVS version which isn't officially supported, so you'll have to solve your problems yourself -- but it might work). Another option is to try Wine (on top of which Cedega is built), but I assume it's not going to work either at all or not as well as with Cedega.
If you have no problems either spending some (or a lot of) time with the cost-free CVS-version of Cedega or paying the small fee to get the "real" version along with support and a promise that the games (including that one) work, go ahead. If I'm right, Transgaming also (at least used to..) provides a trial version of Cedega so you can try it for a given time (can't remember if it was something like 15 days or what) and if you like it, you can buy it after that. It might be sensible.
