Running Emulators and RPG Maker through Wine...having problems...?

So I just installed Wine, and boy is it nifty!
But I'm having a problem.
The first program I attempted to use was RPG Maker 2003, it opened but I could see nothing. The window was there, and the toolbars and menus were there, but where the graphics should be...there was nothing. Then I tried to run Snes9x, a Super Nintendo Emulator, again I could see the menus and what not, but when I tried to run a game...I could see and hear NOTHING. Any ideas as to what my problem could be? I'm assuming it must be a graphical problem, not a wine problem, because the problem was the same in both VERY different programs, and besides not being able to SEE images in the program, the programs appeared to run fine.

I wouldn't run any emulators through wine, there are plenty available for Linux:
http://linuxemu.retrofaction.com/links/index.php

The site is down right now, but for SNES there's snes9x (I recommend GTK port: http://www.snes9x.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=3703) and zsnes.

Also, if you installed Linux just to use wine to run all your Window$ programs, you're missing the point. And if you miss the point, there really will be no reason to use Linux further ... few things will work, and you'll realize you're better off just going back.

Well, I installed Linux to see how I liked it. The only reason I'm trying to run windows programs on it is because getting RPG Maker 2003 to run on Vista is giving me alot of problems so I decided to try it on Linux.

Well if you want that specific program see:
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...estingId=45789

It says that it should run through wine. Make sure to choose an appropriate VERSION of wine, because it's very sensitive version-wise as to which programs will run and which will not with a particular version. Choose one for which it is rated gold (1.1.29) or platinum.

From Source

$ ./configure
$ make depend
$ make
Now as root run
# make install

Run winecfg in a Consol
and setup wine as you prefer...

and Emulators on top of Emulators tend to fail big time
but try tweaking around with setup..

I you want to drive Snes run a Snes Emu for Linux instead
