running Deer Hunter 2005 in Fedora 5

i am new at this. I hate windows... have been messing around with Linux for 5 years on and off. I would like to find out how to get most of my games to work in linux. Any ideas?

It depends on what your games are. The truth is that most of the big popular games just will not run under Linux at all. A few will work under Wine, but are often very buggy when they do. Your best bet is to check out Cedega, a commercial enterprise that builds on the Wine base to try to get as many games running as possible. You will have to pay a monthly fee though.

Most gamers however used dual-booting, running Linux for most things, but booting into Windows when the need to game hits.

I would say that the open source community should work on this issue... Microsoft Dominance. It needs to end... all basic operating system code started out as a form of linux until Bill and his partner fell out... now we the general public have to deal with the fact that we have to bow down to him if we want to play our favorite games. This is because the money is software that runs on windowsxp. XP SUCKS! I used to be a beta tester for Microsoft... everything was buggy as hell. XP is the worst! Thank u for your time. PS.. I want to run Debian Linux.. but have trouble getting the install to take.
