Readymade Xmame

Hi,

It's probably not the done thing amongst Linux users, but is it possible to download ready complied versions of Xmame? I have a couple of Tarballs (37 and 100 versions), but i'm in no position to compile one of these things at this early stage! (I'm far the inveterate user!)

I'm assuming I can use the Romsets used by the Windows versions?

All help graciously received.

Oh yeah, i'm using SimplyMEPIS7 if this is helpful.

Googling .... xmame deb ...
http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/non-free/x/xmame/

So xmame could be present in a MEPIS7 repo too,
but just try with some of the packages from Debian,
dated 2008.

Regards

Thanks for the reply, knudfl. For now I have tried xmame-sdl_0.106-2.1_i386.deb which required dependencies, so will either download these, or try out other packages in the listing. Certainly for a newbie like myself these packages are easier to get on with than the compile-yer-own Tarball affairs.

Appreciated, thankyou.
