Quake 3

Hello,

I just installed Knoppix today and Quake 3... I did all the necessary stuff in the XF86Config-4 file for a Nvidia card (I have a GeForce 4 440MX)... but I'm getting errors when I try to run the game... here is what I get:

I looked at glxinfo and it seemed to be working fine... no idea...

Thanks for any help!

Did you install the Nvidia Linux drivers? I'm not sure Q3 would run without these, and even if it did it would be horribly slow.

Ya, those are exactly the drivers I installed...

I even tried running Q3 in software mode... no luck there either...

Run
Code:
nvidia-installer --sanity
to check the installation. Sometimes a certain file might get overwritten. It happens to me every time the X packages are upgraded.

Ok.. I got it to work finally!

I guess all I had to do was remove this folder

/usr/lib/tls

and now it works great!

I appreciate the help, Nis.

Wow

I spoke too soon...

As soon as I restarted, same problems... so I put the folder back in same place and tried Quake3 again... same thing as before...

I removed the tls folder again and quake 3 works... hmmm
