Quake 2 quad damage on Linux?

Well, i got quake 2 to work nicely on Linux, and now i'm planning to buy quake 2 quad damage, in other words, all the mission packs as well. Are the mission packs also playable (supported) in Linux natively like quake 2?
Thanks

I'm happy to say: ofcourse! If you've got the quake2 binary working, there can't be any problem to install the mission packs.
To install them, just follow the instructions how to.

Sorry to be the rain on your sunny day , but ( don't you just hate buts :)
im pretty sure that is not the case as the quake2 game ai was implemented in a <whatever>.dll for windows and <whatever>.so for linux so unless the specific add on pack
had a linux port or of this <whatever>.dll it wont run in *native* linux , though i suppose you
could resort to wine.

move on to quake3, there's heaps of great mods for it , im pretty sure it does not suffer from
the dll problem as far as ive been able to tell.

Guess ID wised up :)

cheers

Whoops ... I'm sorry. I indeed forgot that you've got more sorts of game binaries for quake2.
Quake and Q3A don't seem to suffer from that, do they?

btw: If you want something you'll be getter a looong Q3A future from, try playing (read: winning :D) all levels on Hardcore skill with a mod called InstaGib.

Quake 2 http://prometheus.ngi.it/smile/metal.gif

Watching you play it made me remember how much I loved it...
So many years have passed since I played it, what an experience...

:D

Well, by reading the README of the quake port i downloaded (quake2-r0-0.14.1) Both 'The reckoning' and 'ground zero' mission packs should be supported. Nothing else left but buy one of the mission packs and try it out. Wish me luck!

Good luck :)

Wish I could play it with you and the others, in the multiplayer coop mode thru the coopordie mod (http://www.planetquake.com/quake2/fe...motw/cod.shtml), fragging those Stroggs, but the damn notebook wont work...

I have all the expansions pack for Quake II(windows versions), and i have not any problem playing them...
ID binarys dont work for me in mi Slack 9.1, but icculus binarys does(http://www.icculus.org/quake2/)...
If you got ID binarys working on your box, you whont had any problem plaiyng the EP.
I love this game since it came out, and i allready lose count in how many times i finish it...=)
Have a blast...
