problem opening steam line 58: xterm-256color: command not found

hello

when i try to run steam I get error:

what should I do to make it work?

I'm running slackware15, updated to current, tried on 5.15.19 and 6.1.15 kernel

Code:
root@mm:~# /usr/bin/steam
/usr/bin/steam: line 58: xterm-256color: command not found
Code:
root@mm:/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d# lspci -v -s 01:00.0

        Kernel driver in use: nouveau
        Kernel modules: nvidiafb, nouveau
you think changing the driver from 'nouveau' to 'nvidia' build from slackbuild might help?

Code:

WARNING: The NVIDIA Quadro FX 770M GPU installed in this system is supported through the NVIDIA 340.xx legacy Linux graphics drivers. Please visit
http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html for more information. The 530.30.02 NVIDIA Linux graphics driver will ignore this GPU.

                                                                                       OK

Source code is here:
https://repo.steampowered.com/steam/....0.0.76.tar.gz

Also this:
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/ste...ster/README.md

What is the output of
Code:
file /usr/bin/steam
If that is a shell script, then look at line 58.

xterm-256color is a terminfo file. On this machine it is at /usr/share/terminfo/x/xterm-256color

About all that I can tell you.
