For anyone using Arch Linux or its derivatives like Manjaro, I uploaded a package to the AUR that will replace the existing driver with the patched one using DKMS similar to how Silver-X did it.

Is there a way we can tell if the patch was accepted and merged into mainline Linux besides watching the change logs?
