OSS software for copying PS saved games onto USB stick?

I was wondering if there was a way to copy a ps saved game onto a USB stick with OSS software. I know there is a commercial company that does this, but I'm not sure if there is an open source similar program. Not sure what to google in this case. Additionally, it'd be great if this file was then usable in a PS emulator. For example, right now I'm playing FF7 on my PS2. I want to keep paying while I'm taking plane trips all over the place. I have a PS1 emulator and the game CD or I will copy the game CD to the computer for portability. PS2 has a usb port and reads ps1 games. Is this possible?

Thanks!
