OpenGL games not centered

When I run an OpenGL game, the game is partially off the screen in 800x600 and there are black bars on the left and right sides of the screen in 640x480. What is the reason for this?

GL probably switches to a different resolution / different freq.

adjust the GL screen in your monitor
modern monitors sould be able to store multiple configurations

I wish I could. It says "OSD Lock" whenever I try to change the monitor.
