Newbie game suggestion

I'm am going to be setting up a Suse 10 system and am new to linux and linux gaming. I would like a suggestion of any easy game to get the hang of setting up. I am a pretty quick learner.
I like FPS and stuff like that.

Cube is a good OS FPS. http://cube.sf.net
Doom 3 installs easily with the aid of a linux installer from http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/linux/doom/
Go to http://www.happypenguin.org , they have many games easy and hard to set up.
