Need help installing RTCW: Enemy Territory.

Well, I ran the terminal
first did SU and put in my pass
then ran chmod +x et-linux-2.55.x86.run
That returned nothing. I guess I'm not doing this right for obvious reasons. Anyone care to help? Didn't really see anything already posted about it =/

Chmod'ing the file will not return anything unless there is an error (permission problems). I have also installed .run files by just typing "sh <filename>. I believe the first part of the file is just a shell script to unpack and install the files.

the game is installed and patched.

when doing the run program command, it makes the screen go blank as if loading the game, the brings me right back to the desktop.

I'm trying to update my ATI drivers, but that's giving me some problems too

Open up a shell and type ''et''.

What are the error messages that appear?
