mgba on libretro: How to get?

I'm running Slackware (14.2-64) I play a LOT of video games. Mostly on obsolete systems. I would like to have mgba to run on libretro. I cannot figure out how to do this. My ROMS directory is divided into systems, (NES, GB, SNES, N64) The only files libretro shows me in the interface are Final Fantasy Legend, Pokemon Blue, and an image from Pokemon Ruby. My actual ~/ROMS/GB folder shows the following:
Code:

ichael@caitlyn 13 $ ls ~/ROMS/GB
Final Fantasy - Tactics Advanced # GBA.GBA    Pokemon - Leaf Green Version (U) (V1.1).srm
Final Fantasy Legend, The (USA).gb            Pokemon - Ruby Version (U) (V1.1)-180912-195745.png
Final Fantasy Legend, The (USA).srm          Pokemon - Ruby Version (U) (V1.1).gba
Pokemon - Blue Version (USA, Europe).gb      Pokemon - Ruby Version (U) (V1.1).srm
Pokemon - Blue Version (USA, Europe).srm      Pokemon - Ruby Version (U) (V1.1).state1
Pokemon - Blue Version (USA, Europe).srm.bsv  mega-emerald-x-y.gba
Pokemon - Blue Version (USA, Europe).state    mega-emerald-x-y.srm
Pokemon - Fire Red Version (U) (V1.1).gba    pokemon-ashgray.gba
Pokemon - Fire Red Version (U) (V1.1).srm    pokemon-ashgray.sav
Pokemon - Leaf Green Version (U) (V1.1).gba  pokemon-ashgray.srm

How do I get mgba to couple with libretro? I used to have mgba in libretro, which explains all the gba games. However, I screwed up my slackware install somehow, and when I came back libretro-mgba was no longer available. How do I rig this system so that I can have it back? I downloaded the git files. I made the build directory. I configured the make command so that my libretro directory was targeted. I ran make and then make install as root, but I STILL CAN'T GET THIS THING!!! How do I get it?

RetroArch has had a "core installer" for a few years now. It's accessible from the menus and it's used to install "cores" like mGBA. Some packagers disable it; I did not.

I have no idea if this SlackBuild still works.
