Mednafen: emulator for Playstation

Hi,

I have just read that mednafen can play the psx one.
http://mednafen.sourceforge.net/documentation/psx.html
The use of -loadcd is said to be needed to run a game.

It is really impressive. Anyone knows how it works?

Greetings
