Low spec network games?
 

Hi, I am looking for some good low spec network games to be put on my Ubuntu computers.

Each has only 256mb of Ram, and not very good processors, so these games will have to be fairly simple (no 3D graphics etc.)

These computers do not connect to the internet. Therefore, they will have to be games that can be hosted locally, not over the internet.

Any games will do as long as they fit those two criteria.

I already had Wesnoth, and I think its a good example of the type of game we want. Something low spec that is networkable, that is.

Any other ideas anyone? I am trying to get as many as i can on these computers...

If you like rogue like games you might find that scourge is very nice. However I don't know if it will work decently on your hardware... It might worth a short. Another older roguelike is falcons eye. That one should work, never tested is in network but you can check it and see what happens.

Also, if wine is an option you have a wide range of offers available (assuming that you have some old titles or can buy them for cheap). Warcrafts below WoW should work ok, some on wine, some on dosbox. Diablo I and II are nice if you like hack and slash, and work on wine as well. But the best ones are those "little" black isle games: baldur's gate I and II, planescape, icewind dale I and II, and the big lot of official and unofficial expansions that they have. If you can find some of these on second hand they are worth every penny you invest in them (well, that's my opinion).
