linux dedicated server problem reading all .pk3 files
I am running a linux COD server
I am trying to run awe v2.12
I created a awe_cod folder and placed all the files in there including the game.mp.i386.so
the server starts up fine and fs_game awe_cod works ok too so i know that the mod folder is ok.
The problem is that the server refuses to load (or just completely ignores) the file:
w_awe_cod_svr_v2.12.pk3
It loads, however, the other file which is in the same folder:
z_awe_svr_customlogo.pk3
What is wrong with this server file?
I have checked all the readme document and found nothing that matches this issue.
just to note, i have a windows version of the awe_cod server running ok with the exact same setup as the linux server.
something is missing with the linux install.?
does the "w" in w_awe_cod_svr_v2.12.pk3 mean windows?
check list for linux dedicated server:
- cod version is linux 1.5
- mod is in own folder called "awe_cod"
- fs_game = "awe_cod"
- w_awe_cod_svr_v2.12.pk3 is present in awe_cod folder
- w_awe_cod_v2.1_client.pk3 is present in awe_cod folder (although not required to make mod work)
- z_awe_svr_customlogo.pk3 is present in awe_cod folder (although not required to make mod work)
- all 3 pk3 files have the same owner and chmod value.
- made sure there are no 'cod:uo' files present. (this is NOT a COD:UO install)
- config file works perfectly in windows server and linux server
- fs_homepath = /home/cod/
- fs_basepath = /usr/local/games/base-cod/
- server console output

The above console output verfies what pk3 files are being put into memory.
Having all of the files put into the "base" folder just has the same results.
I also have the a similar issue with an Enemy Territory server not reading fully working and valid pk3 files.
thanks in advance for helping!
