Question Just turned on Ubuntu 12.10 for the first time ever, **any** help?

First, any where you can point me to learn how to even browse this system, muchless use it, would be amazing tyvm.

Second, all I want to do is play Farmville on Facebook, that's all I swear!! Instead, it repeatedly freezes upon loading muh farm or gives an error message "Awe snap, its dead".

Well, now you see, I'm not only pennyless too but clueless too and my very best guess is I'm drivin' a 2 door, Ubuntu 12.10 in google chrome down No Memory Lane, but I'm still a huntin' my farm all the same. Sure would be nice if one a you good ole fellers would set me in the right die-rection.

/shrug,

It can't be good: driving 'round just any ol' neighborhood on the web a lookin' for some farm-filled fun .

purdy please?

chrome should already have the latest version of flash player available for linux.

if you are running the latest version of chrome (not a beta) then you should be able to play farmville without any problems.

keep us posted.

...this aint funny, you're right...is that the full system update you're trying to do? Did you stick to the defaults during install/use? it looks as if your kernel is left out of the update, and this can be deadly, I should know, had the very same thisn on Arch and got stuck with a dead system...

If this is a new install (rg: not a lot of data on it yet) would you consider a re-install?

Depends what the hardware looks like...let's be fair, Linux can be frugal, but it has its limits

By the way, I kinda lost track of this thread...
