Did Mandrake detect your video card properly? If not, you may need to tell it what kind of video card you have. If it's an nvidia chipset, search the forums for 'nvidia'; it's a fairly common problem.

typical and common problem.

Your video card is not set properly and you most likely don't have OpenGL working. You have an ATI card?

You have to download and install the drivers from nvidia. Make sure you have your kernel sources installed.

Yeah, you must install the nvidia driver. MDK comes with "nv" driver = with no acceleration.

I don't mean to sound rude, but please, please, please read the instructions on installing your shiny new nVidia drivers. They real nitty-gritty instructions begin somewhere around page 64 (from memory - it could be higher or lower, but it isn't on page 1). You will find things are more likely to work for you. It is not often that the drivers cannot be installed. Also please note that you need your kernel sources - Mandy 9.2 does not appear to ship with them, so you may need to go to Mandrake's site to get that too.
