JK2 Dedicated Server

Hi there,
I'm setting up my Linux box to be the main server for my LAN. I've got things like web server, ftp server etc.. But I play quite alot of LAN games over my network, and decided to add some dedicated game servers to my linux box.

I downloaded the Jedi Knight 2 Linux Dedicated Server, and followed installation instructions. The only thing I had trouble with was getting the pk3 files... I tried copying them from the JK2 disk, but it could'nt read the disk??? I was logged into root and I could access other cd's. As a workaround I FTP'ec the pk3 files from my Windows XP Laptop, incuding the pk3's from the latest patch.

However, when I run the program as root, or as any user, actually, I get the following:

Code:

root@thepenguin:/usr/local/games/jk2# ./jk2ded +exec server.cfg
JK2MP v1.04a linux-i386 May 11 2003
Initialising zone memory .....
----- FS_Startup -----
Current Search Path:
/root//.jkii/base
/usr/local/games/jk2/base
./jk2ded/base

----------------------
0 files in pk3 files

Running in restricted demo mode.

----- FS_Startup -----
Current Search Path:
/root//.jkii/demo
/usr/local/games/jk2/demo
./jk2ded/demo

----------------------
0 files in pk3 files
Sys_Error: Could'nt load mpdefault.cfg

If it's any help I'm running Slackware 9.1. Plus, there's 'something' in those pk3 files, they're roughly the same size as they are on my windows computer, so I doubt there's been a transfer error of some sort, and I've actually transferred the files multiple times to be sure it was'nt a transfer error.

Appreciate some help, thanks :)

Did you install JK2 on a Windows machine then copy the game directory to the server? Then try to run the jk2 server? That's what I do for Quake based games as per the INSTALL file that comes with the server.
