Ive tried everything but ut04 still doesent have sound


Sound works on everything else (except Xmms)

I installed the latest ALSA
I set my driver for Intel i8x0
I disabled arts and esd

and it still doesent work. my soundcard is a onboard nvidia chip

It worked fine under mandrake 9.2 but now im runing slackware 9.1

Do you have sound when playing the game as root? It sounds like a permission problem

nope, I botted up as root and ran it and still no sound

I just noticed somthing

during boot I keep seeing "unresolved symbol snd-intel8x0.o.gz"
maybe this has somthing to do with it?

Did you have all the ALSA packages installed (-driver, -oss, -util, -lib)? Have you run alsaconf as root?
