Internet chess
I have for a time used eboard to play chess on the net. I connected via FICS. I think eboard is OK, but I don't think there is enough activity on FICS. On which server should I go to get more than 20 opponents? And which program should I use?

I like FICS and I also like http://www.itsyourturn.com
|
And which program do you use to play on itsyourturn.com?
|
I use firefox ... but I guess you could use almost any browser. But you could of figured that out by just clicking on the link (http://www.itsyourturn.com) :p BTW what's your FICS handle.

I go to http://games.yahoo.com
They have many games you can play on there including chess. YOu just have to have a java enabled browser. |
You can try as well www.chess21.com works with java and it's pretty funny
|
But I don't wanna use a browser. Isn't there some programs like eboard for those other servers? I remember that kasparov chess also had some download-able program...

i play on www.itsyourtyurn.com and no you cant use a client its html orientated a normal user only gets 25 moves a day anyway.
Sheldon - do you like extinction chess or horde chess, id like to give them a go but i dont want to post a new game to the waiting room cos anybody who accepts will be really good and i dont want to get slaughtered. |
You can use "JIN" to play on either FICS or ICC, it's written in Java and works pretty well from what I remember. You can find lots of opponents on ICC, but you can only play as a guest unless you want to pay for a subscription.
