Installing Transgaming Cedega, Point2Play etc.

Can someone help me install and get going Transgaming stuff? Since I am still rather ignorant as far as Linux is concerned...Please use "baby steps". What should I install first? Next? What is the purpose of each of these products. How do I go about installing games? I am using Suse 9.2 Pro. I would like to install HL2 and BF1942 w/DC.

rpm -ivh *.rpm

Well, if that's all there is to it....Errr....No. I feel rather stupid...but thanks for asking! ;)

Thank you.

/usr/lib/transgaming_cedega//winex/bin/wine: cannot find 'setup.exe'

What did I do wrong?

You are in the wrong directory. Suppose you want to install BF1942 which you do. Follow these steps for all games.

1. Mount your cd drive with the disk inside.
2. cd to the directory where your cd drive is mounted.
3. Then run the command cedega *****.exe where ***** stands for the name of the installer. Usually it is setup, but games like Sims call it s327.exe.

Hmmm....I "think" I understand. Thanks for your help. I've been subscribed to this thing for over three months now and haven't been able to take the time to get it to work. Thanks again.

Well, just for the heck of it, I thought I'd install BF1942 first. I did the install, but I can only get the splash screen to come up. What now?
