Hi, I'm new to Linux, and I have started with Ubuntu. I am having several problems adapting at this point, the biggest two being installing new software and configuring my wireless connection. As to the first, whenever I try to install using a .exe file, a window pops up saying an acceptable/suitable program cannot be found. If I can solve this problem, I will be able to fix my wireless connection, but if no one has any advice for the installation issue, help with a wireless setup would also be greatly appreciated. I need to know how to find the information needed for a wireless connection, which I have on a disc that came with my router provided by AT&T. Can anyone help?

First of all .exe will not install natively (unless you use something like wine). If I understand you correctly, you want to use the drivers for you wireless card? If this is the case then you need to use ndiswrapper.

As for installing games, it's easier to use the package manager for that task.
