Hello,
This thread is an howto destined to give hints how to play MAME for some games. The howto is destined to Debian on Raspberry. There is Raspbian, which is well known.
(1) Install mame (with root access)
Code:
sudo apt-get install mame
(2) Create a directory for storing your rom file(s).
(3) Place your rom file into the directory ~/roms/. Here we take the example of Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder. The file is a zip file : ga2.zip.

(4) Once done, you may run the following command. The useful method is to have a directory ~/roms and to run -rompath. This allows mame to find the necessary files of the game.

cd ; mame -video opengl -joystick -rompath roms/ ga2
Note about gamepad: -joystick allow to make sure that the gamepad will work. My gamepad is the Logitech Gamepad Wireless F710, which works on Raspberry (kernel 4.9.59).
